Fabric is offering exciting opportunities to join our team as a User Experience Manager. This role collaborates with various engineering sprint teams to deliver simple and intuitive user interfaces for our clients. The User Experience Manager will engage in conversations with clients and incorporate their feedback with the Fabric story in order to design appealing interfaces and experiences with high usability. We work with a diverse tech stack. Our backend is a cloud deployment in Google Cloud Platform mix of on-prem deployments with Kubernetes written in Python and Node.Js services, organized in a microservices architecture that helps keep it flexible. Our front-end is built with React.


What You'll Do at Fabric:

  • Use design UX Tools (e.g., Visio, Fireworks) to solve complex UI issues 
  • Explain all UX UCD processes and tools to others, and coach their use, including reviewing and editing, test scripts, use cases, and UI validation documents
  • Engage in an active dialog with customer at the task level to elicit user stories/experiences on both the usability and functional scope and incorporate this into the product
  • Work in accordance with Fabric’s product and engineering models (eg Agile, Scrum, LEAN)
  • Work with sprint teams to deliver assigned stories and iterative UI prototypes within a sprint
  • Provide product usability, evaluation, and support to product sprint teams, including analysis and investigation of highly complex applications and systems
  • Create UI proposals where the interaction model must be unique for the data being presented
  • Create very high-fidelity prototypes that can be used for usability testing with formative testing methods
  • Create animations for communicating interface details
  • Develop proposals for UI patterns and building blocks to solve detailed interaction problems
  • Specify UI models for new UI behavior (e.g. auto layout)
  • Propose technical solutions to discontinuities caused by integrating multiple older UI technologies into a modern product

Who You Are:

You are a user-first designer with the tech savvy to create simple and intuitive experiences for our users. A storyteller via software, you can translate our product into the ideal user-friendly design. You are comfortable taking technical concepts and explaining them to non-technical team members. You are familiar with the eCommerce market and understand the best ways to visually present information to these kinds of clients.

What You've Accomplished:

  • 6+ years of UI/UX experience for commercial SaaS products
  • BS in computer science or software engineering
  • Ability to work both independently and within the scrum methodology
  • Strong knowledge of commerce and/or retail products and commerce and/or retail domain expertise
  • Strong knowledge of PWA mobile web and mobile native UI/UX
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal), good problem-solving skills, and ability to work with technical and non-technical staff
