Chief of Staff

About the position

The Chief of Staff will report to the CEO and will work directly with the management team of Fabric to determine the strategic priorities and establish company objectives. As the right hand to the CEO, they will put in place cross-functional processes that will support scaling the business, as well as taking an active part in managing those processes as part of our day-to-day business operations. They will track objectives across multiple business units and ensure projects are completed within the required timeframes. 

 

The Chief of Staff must have a proven track record in a business management or operational development role and experience with cross departmental initiatives. A focus on executive level advisement is also a must. The ideal candidate will be results-driven, an excellent problem solver and possess incredible interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with all stakeholders. 

 

Heads up: this is not an easy gig, but this can be one of the most fulfilling ones in a hyper-growth startup like Fabric. Responsibilities 

  • Work with the CEO and management to determine company goals and objectives and collaborate with leadership to develop business plans to achieve those goals
  • Put in place cross-functional processes and systems to help the company effectively and efficiently manage its day-to-day operations and strategic planning
  • Project manage critical business initiatives from their initial conception through their successful execution 
  • Direct the planning of the CEO’s and management’s most critical asset: time. Work with our team to most effectively and efficiently run multiple processes in parallel 
  • Direct the business leaders on where to focus their efforts and develop metrics and KPIs to evaluate the performance of those projects
  • Drive operational efficiency by creating dashboards, building out financial models, and conducting data analysis
  • Be an extension of the CEO

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or other relevant field (Master’s degree preferred)
  • 5+ years’ experience in a business role
  • Proven achievements leading multiple teams 
  • Prior experience with data analysis and budget management 
  • Experience working with international companies and multiple time zones (IL Preferred)
  • Execution driven, efficient, and able to coordinated across multiple business units
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience working in a fast-growing start-up company
  • Excellent planning, project management, and organizational skills
  • Excellent judgment and discretion required in handling highly sensitive, privileged, confidential and/or non-public information in an appropriate manner
  • Positive energy, strong initiative, good judgment, resourcefulness, and perseverance
  • Happy to get their hands dirty and do what is needed for the success of the role
  • Ability to work independently but also partner as a team player is a must
  • Out of the box thinking and ability to use common sense and take decisions
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office computer programs, specifically MS Office and G-Mail
  • Willing to work onsite in our NYC office
