The Role:

We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer with a strong background in mechanical design and experience working with dynamic systems to join our robotic picking cell development team in Israel.

Mechanical design at Fabric is inherently multidisciplinary, requiring you to collaborate with electrical and software engineers as well as other mechanical engineers on the team.



Your Team:


Fabric’s Robotic R&D is a multi-disciplinary group, built from skilled teammates of SW, Algo., Hardware, Mechanical, Control, and V&V. The group is responsible for designing the next generation of robotic platforms starting from scratch and up to a production class product.

The team is responsible for the product development throughout its lifecycle - from requirements and ideation to rapid experimentation with a “fail fast” & “fail forward” approach. Deployment at production sites and integration to the company’s process flow, delivering value at scale. This is while supporting reliability across a global fleet. Implementing continuous integration and continuous deployment methodologies for ever and constantly improving products.



What you’ll do:


  • Design, manufacture, assemble, test & document HW solutions (components & modules) - as part of the robotic system HW maturing efforts to an industrial class level.
  • Initiation and management of development projects - independently and with subcontractors
  • Address challenges across varied frontiers - design for reliability / mass production / ease of use / reduced cost / ease of deployment / etc..
  • Extreme solution ownership - from the ideation phase to a successful production deployment phase
  • High level & low level understanding - high level HW architecture status and reasoning understanding as well as the specific solutions implementation ownership. Own both the why & the how.


Who you are:


Must - 

  • BSc/MSc in Mechanical Engineering
  • 5+ years of relevant Mechanical development experience, including hands-on experience in running solutions in production environments - a must
  • Fluent in CAD program (any, will be required to learn SolidWorks) - capable of creating and maintaining complex assemblies and subassemblies.
  • Experienced in design for manufacturing - different manufacturing processes, cost reduction, sheet-metal / injection molding / 3d printing / etc..
  • Project management skills - Experienced in managing and working with subcontractors

  • An excellent collaborator with great communication skills, who can take part in a diverse cross-functional team
  • Experience managing multiple projects and balancing competing priorities.

Bonus - 

  • Robotics / mechatronics domain experience - Electrical motors, pneumatics, Sensors, linear actuators, etc..
  • Familiarity Or hands on experience with Articulated Industrial Robots (Kuka / ABB / Fanuic etc.).
